Teaching
I teach undergraduate courses in computer science and data science at Spelman College, averaging 46 students per section, alongside first-year seminars that introduce students to college-level computing.
Approach
I want students to leave my courses able to do the work themselves first, and to use AI tools deliberately and transparently second. That means early assignments that build real skill before AI enters the picture, and later assignments that teach students how to collaborate with AI tools critically — evaluating their output rather than accepting it uncritically. It's the same lens I bring to my research on deepfakes and AI-generated content: technology should be understood, not just used.
